Newbury College

Canoeing

My wife, son and I like nothing better than messing about in an Open boat. Our current favourite location is Loch Tummel.
Having started my paddling career way back in 1986 I was always drawn to the Open boats however I succumbed to the Kayaks and became an SI Kayak. Well eventually I saw the light and moved to Open boats. On the way I have dabbled in Sea kayaking, including multi day trips around the Channel Islands and later the Orkneys, including a crossing from mainland Scotland to Hoy. Working in Devon got me out surfing a bit and this continued whilst working in the North East. I have managed a couple of days out at St Andrews since moving to Errol.

Windsurfing

I learnt to windsurf in the North Sea in 1986 and continued sailing at the various outdoor centres I worked at. Eventually bought myself some decent kit in 2000 and havent looked back. Took me a while since moving to Tayside but have been to Lochore Meadows a couple of times, not a bad location.
